METROPOLITAN CAR PARK
Warning: it is not easy
| This silver car is at the last set
of lights
on Northbourne Ave that you go thru before turning right
into London
Cct at the next lights 100m along.
These old buildings with the arches date from 1927 and were the original Canberra CBD Follow London Cct around to Gordon St which is the first set of lights. Metropolitan is now in front of you. Turn right into Gordon. |
| This is the view as you turn into Gordon St from London Cct, cars enter Mews between these blocks, Gordon East (GE) & GW | In the Mews you go down and turn hard right to gates. Use swipe card |
| Once in the gate you will swing right again and go gently up past car parks till you see this short little interchange ramp that will drop you down to basement 1 If you go straight ahead and up other side you can exit or take another ramp up to the mezzanine level car park (for 19GE only) | This plan and your
exact unit location will be with your keys. You should now find
from it
which basement you want for your unit.
Note that we sometimes can not tell you ahead of arrival which unit you will be in (We often have to rearrange bookings with changing requests) |
| For all other spots except GE019, turn right again into Basement 1 | click here for expanded view of metroCarPlan.htm below |
| This ragged photo below is the spine of basement 1
running under the Mews. If you are feeling ragged at this stage,
park and
explore on foot (seriously!)
For LT062 turn left at bottom, all others turn right |
To get to basement 2 you repeat the above
circuit, follow
arrows to second interchange ramp.
However, ET051 is now directly in front of you now on far wall. Follow arrows but turn away from interchange ramp |
| The picture below is of the second interchange ramp (directly under the first one. The van is now entering basement 2. The EXIT to base 1 is straight ahead. | EXITing is about the only clearly labelled thing in this carpark | |
| Use plan to locate your spot | Congratulations, you get a gold star |
Note that as with all such car parks, thieves can enter by following a car in. Don't assume security. back to metropolitan.htm
